Campervan/Mortorhome/4WD Relocations FAQs

What is the difference between S/T, P/T and F/T?

S/T means that the campervan/mortorhome has a shower and a toilet.  P/T means the campervan is a pop-top.  F/T means flip-top.

So do the P/T and F/T not have showers or toilets?

They all have showers and toilets except for the 4WD.  The 2 berth P/T has an outside shower and no toilet.

What do the campervan/motorhome/4WD look like?

Check out KEA Campers website at www.keacampers.com for pictures, descriptions and a virtual tour of each campervan.

How many people can travel/sleep in the campervan/motorhome/4WD?

2 Berth P/T: 2

2 Berth S/T: 2

4 Berth S/T 4

6 Berth S/T: 6

4WD F/T: 2

Do I need a special license to drive the campervans?

No, a normal/international driver’s license is fine.  You do need to be at least 21 years old however.

How many days can I have the campervan/motohome/4WD?

The number of days for the relocation is indicated on the Relocation Australia List under “Minimum relocation days column” The travel dates are indicated for the relocation are under ” First P/U Date’ and Last D/O Date” (this does not mean you have the vehicle from the first p/u to the last d/o date),

Keep in mind that relocation is always subject to availability for within those travel dates.

Extensions are permitted subject to availability and have to be confirmed by KEA Campers AUS

How many days extension can I have and the cost for the extension?

Normally if approved by KEA, 1, 2 or 3 days extension will be added to you minimum relocation days and the rates vary from $26.00, $55.00, $75.00 p/d to full hire rates of the vehicle

FYI: the longest relocation is up to a maximum of 14 days (this includes extensions) but are for longer distance relocations (eg. CNS-PER, BME-SYD, BNE-BME, BNE-DRW)

Can I take the relocation in less days then the indicated on “minimum relocation days” column?

Yes (eg.. if the minimum relocation is 3 days from SYD-MEL and you want to do it in 2 days then that’s fine)

How are the relocation days calculated and the hours of operation for relocations?

Days are calculated on calendar days basis (not 24hrs) and the hours of relocation Mon-Fri: 0800 – 1500, Sat-Sun: 0800 -1300 (keydrops are not permitted)

What are the travel restrictions with the Campervan/Motorhome/4WD?

Campervans/Motorhomes/4WDs are only to be driven on sealed/bitumen roads (excess roads up to100kms is approved by KEA).

NOTE: if you have a 4WD relocation, your not permitted to take the vehicle four wheel driving or on 4WD tracks.

The terms/conditions of your relocation will be explained and highlighted to you upon collection of your vehicle.

Is there an insurance excess?

The 1K bond ($1200.00 AUD) is your insurance excess if you have an accident or damage the KEA vehicles regardless if it’s your fault or not ( if it’s not your fault and KEA can recover the $$ from the other party then your $1200.00 excess will be refunded back to you but will be held till case is closed).

For all relocation rentals, the $1200 is taken from your c/card and if you don’t have a c/card then you will need to pay the amount in cash.

Is there extra insurance I can buy to have no excess?

No

Does KEA offer fuel allowance?

Yes, sometimes they do and this will be indicated on the costing per day column (fuel is refunded back to you on drop off with receipts)

FYI: Fuel is offered to relocations that are traveling longer distances

What is the quickest way to make a booking?

Study the relocation list and email us with these details:

-          Destinations you want to relocate between (eg. ADL to MEL)

-          Which campervan it is (eg. 2 berth P/T)

-          Start and end dates for travel (incl. pick-up and drop-off days)

-          Full names of people travelling

-          Age

-          Nationality

-          Contact number

-          Email address

Is that it then?

Not quite!  The only other thing you have to do is pay StandbyCar $75.00 fee (this $75.00 will be deducted from your relocation total amount and the balance to KEA or refund from KEA is due on pick up).

Then what happens?

We will email KEA with your details and if it is still available, they will email us back with a booking number.  We will then email you your confirmation and relocation details/address details.
